Please welcome our new blogger Meg Grant! Meg Grant (NZ/US) is a designer, technologist and maker, researching smart textiles and wearable electronics. Formally trained in fashion design and a self-taught programmer, her work often uses humor combined with an emphasis on the aesthetics of electronics, tailoring and handcrafting techniques.
She has taught Smart Textiles and Mode Technologie at Willem de Kooning Academy in the Netherlands and recently her collaborative project for a photovoltaic yarn (Solar Fiber) won an innovation award and was featured at Dutch Design Week and in the NeMo Museum energy innovation exhibition.
We’ve covered a lot of Meg’s work before on FT from her beautiful conductive lace sensor experiments to her playful Secret Keeper Gloves. Meg is going to be invaluable addition to our community and we welcome her thought leadership here on FT.
