NAME, COMMENT, #TAG – An interactive system that explores, social media, wearable technology and interaction amongst multiple users.
“I am interested in the diverse and alternative ways of communication which wearable technology enables, on the part of both the artist and the user. The medium acts as a fascinating site of communication where a garment relays information about the individual or their environment to the outside world.
We live in a complex global culture and the idea that an artist can use two such different mediums – the digital and fashion – together is a reflection on how we inhabit our current dynamic. Wearable technology establishes networks of communication; of information which can be re-interpreted and transformed, depending on the environment, the user and the wearer.”
