Spanish artist Alicia Framis invited a number of artists, architects and designers to fashion speculative designs for objects and garments for life on the Moon.
From apocalyptic “Moon Suits” that address issues of climate change to designs of an eerily poetic global cemetery “Worldmoon,” the concepts ranged from the macabre to the romantic.
United Nude took a more “practical” approach designing a pair of DIY flat-pack heels that can be assembled in minutes and easily customized with the interchangeable pieces. As traveling to the moon can be quite an exhaustive journey, the shoes were designed to be modular and easily packable.
The shoes are made from flat carbon fiber pieces and a modeled foot-bed and sole that are joined together with wire and leather laces.
These fashionable heels look a tab bit high so let’s just hope the moon’s surface is more even than it appears from a distance.
