I’m not quite sure what this collaboration between the French label Feiyue and a collection of artists known as Span-Kidz is all about, but it’s involving wearable tech so I’m quite intrigued.
Whether it is a promotional video that’s intended to go viral or made just for kicks, the video captures the very ethos that drives most designers and artists towards wearable tech in the first place: the ability to defy the laws of physics and make the impossible imaginable.
This brief video demos a pair of kicks that gives one the ability to fly. And who amongst us has not entertained that very idea.
One particular reason that I do love this video is because the pair of shoes are DIY and created from a kit by some hacker-type individual. I find this particular aspect quite fascinating since it does reflect the very true fact that wearable tech, as it is today, is certainly fueled and motivated by all the makers, artists, hackers and creatives — not industry.
Stay tuned as the story will continue to unfold in mid-January.
