Next week I will be giving a workshop at V2_ in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. There are still places available! I will introduce the exciting field of LEDs (regular, super bright, power, smd), electroluminescent (EL) wire and optic fibers discussing the pros and cons of each and giving useful tips for incorporating these in textiles. This will be followed by an introduction into soft circuits using conductive threads and fabrics. In the practical part of the afternoon you will make a soft switch and use this to control a LED. After this exercise you will get the opportunity to incorporate light in a garment of your own using electroluminescent wire or LEDs. This workshop will be aimed at beginners in the field of e-textiles. Participants will be required to bring a garment to work on. When: Thursday, 29 July 2010, 12.00-18.00 Where: V2_ Groundfloor, Eendrachtsstraat 10, Rotterdam, The Netherlands Costs: €40,- (€25,- + €15,- materials) Registration: melissa@dancetechnology.nl Registration closes on Monday 26 July Copyright photo: Natalia Svedlund-Rodriguez.
