Lucy McRae is an artist whose work lives in the intersection of fashion, technology and the body. Her work often transposes the human figure with readymade objects creating imaginative skins from toothpicks, q-tips, balloons, and foam. Her latest project titled Peristaltic Skin Machine resurfaces the body in tubes of colored liquid that dramatically stutter and flow across the body. The video is quite breathtaking. A similar concept was explored by Charlie Bucket last year with his Fluid Dress. Unlike Peristalic Skin Machine, the tubes in the Fluid Dress are woven.
