When I saw this image, my heart sank. The elephant in the room which most of the interactive fashion world often fails to address is the social consequences of developing these technologies. The world of advertising may (or may not) become one of the earliest adapters of interactive fashion, turning the body into a mobile billboard. The thought of a Nike ad, however artfully done, animating across a Nike branded T somehow seems a little disturbing. But, then again, I avoid obvious labels/brands on my garments. Do you guys find the potential use of wearables in advertising disturbing?
