The Morning Monster is an adorable plush alarm clock that gently wakes you up in the morning by raising your blinds to allow the sunlight to flood your room. Developed by Nick Hardeman, the alarm can be set by pressing on the critter’s buck teeth and turned on and off by pressing his cross-stiched nose. In the morning when the alarm goes off, the blinds automatically open. The blinds can also be manually opened and closed by yanking his arm up and down respectively. The Morning Monster is nice combination of craft and technology. I love the interaction — it is simple, fun and quirky. You can build your own Morning Monster by using Rob Faludi’s open source Adruino clock project tutorial .
