CRAFT Video: LilyPad Arduino 101 from make magazine on Vimeo.
There has been a lot of activity in the DIY interactive fashion arena and I gathered up a few tutorials to share. First off, Becky Stern from Craft Magazine and Sternlab created a nice video tutorial (above) to get you started with the Lilypad Arduino. The video shows you how to attach the LilyPad and power supply to each other and upload a basic program that blinks an LED. You can download the code here.
Musical Touch-sensitive Light Up Hoodie
Once you get your LED blinking, you can advance to the Musical Touch-sensitive Light Up Hoodie instructable by Kanjun. Using the LilyPad arduino and conductive thread and fabrics, you will learn how to make a musical garment that lights up and plays different notes. The garment changes its behavior depending on how conductive you are. The great part is that your hoodie is entirely washable. Another fun project is the tilt sensing bracelet by Hannah Perner-Wilson . In this tutorial you will learn how to make a tilt sensing bracelet with decorative conductive patches and beads to control a second LED bracelet. Fun stuff! Hope these tutorials provide you with the basics to get you started (or inspired). Via Craft Magazine and Instructables
