Tron: Quorra Costume

I think I possibly had the best Halloween ever! It's partly due to the fact that I had so much fun running around as Quorra for two nights in a row.

The costume is made from faux leather and EL Film strips. The luminescent panels are removable, velcored onto the leather vest in order to make the top washable. To be frank, the cutting and re-soldering the EL film was quite tricky to work with but I think I managed to the tame the beast with the help of conductive fabric tape. I will write up a tutorial on how to work with the EL film in the next three weeks for those folks who are interested. Meanwhile... here are the rest of the pics.

I happened to run across the Tron advertisement on Sunset so I thought it was a perfect photo op.

Awesome costume!!! Maybe we should meet up for a photo op! My camera definitely isn't as good as yours, but maybe my costume's got a shot.

Hi Syuzi, this is great. EL is gorgeous. I wish i can make a Tron outfit for me one day.
I also like UV and black light fabrics but it does not shine as EL. Let me know when you make the step by step DIY. LoV

Interesting. I've been debating this sort of project for a while. Have you looked into using/cutting full sheets of EL? It's not much more expensive than some fabrics and gives the same results and could allow you some more interesting shapes. I was talking to the director this last week and I forgot to ask about how the costume designer did the light up parts... anyway, good luck with it, I look forward to your tutorial!
