Sensing Smell — Environmental Sensors

Carbon Dioxide CO2 Sensor
Carbon Dioxide CO2 Sensor

In my hunt for unique sensors, I stumbled upon some interesting gas sensors that I wanted to share with all of you. So if you're interested in working on a project that can sense or "smell" a variety of environmental gases, these off-the-shelf sensors available via Futurlec may be a great starting point.

Pictured above is the Carbon Dioxide CO2 Sensor that can be used in air quality monitoring.

Alcohol Sensor

High-Accuracy Alcohol Sensor can be used to detect alcohol levels with breathalyser units.

Ozone (O3) Sensor

Love the alcohol sensors - you could make them into jewellery and whenever a prospective date tries to chat you up the sensors could sense how wasted they are!!!! Hours of fun on a night out. Lol!!!! :D

Ha! You could have so much fun with some of these. I wonder how sensitive they are. Specifically the Air Quality Control Sensor. Could you imagine having something that goes off only when you're in a crowded smokey bar? Although, it wouldn't work in my neck of the woods now that smoking is banned in the cities.

Oh! Even better. Have a bunch of alcohol sensors and provide a fun with your friends when you're out drinking. LOL.

Sigh, now if only I had my shop set up. I'm in the middle of moving so all ideas are put on hold for now.
