This week’s round up features some of the best, creative and clever uses of the laser cutter when it comes to creating textiles and fashion. Early adopters of the technology were mainly couture designers such as John Galliano who created a beige laser-cut suede garment (pictured below) in 2005. Fast forward six years and laser cut fashion has hit the mainstream — big time! Fast fashion retailers from Top Shop to ASOS are now carrying laser cut clothes, shoes and accessories. And of course we leave it to the independent designers such as Principle Pleasure to bring a bit of irony and whimsy to laser cut clothing that often lean towards the ornate and decorative.
